Vo Tuong Duy attended the ICANN75 Annual General Meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Our Vice Manager, Vo Tuong Duy attended the ICANN75 Annual General Meeting held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from September 17th to 22nd, 2022.

The annual general meeting is where ICANN, a global internet management organization, meets to discuss various topics about domain name management, among other relevant topics.

Our parent company, GMO BRAND SECURITY Inc, is one of only 19 registrars in Japan that are officially recognized by ICANN, and is the number one in Asia that handles brand TLDs*.※1

Vo Tuong Duy attended ICANN75 along with three other members of GMO BRAND SECURITY from Japan, China and the United States.

Also from GMO Internet Group, ten members from GMO Registry Inc, who handle “.shop” and “.tokyo” TLDs, attended the meeting.

GMO Internet Group might also rank top in terms of the number of attendees at ICANN meetings.

Although brand TLDs and ICANN's activities are not yet widely known in Vietnam, it will become increasingly important for Vietnamese brands as the country's economy develops and brands become bigger, and expand to a global market.
